Dr. Talia Troister
I am a licensed clinical psychologist registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. I earned my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at Queen’s University, where I also completed my Master’s degree. My predoctoral internship was in The Clinical Health Psychology Department at The University of Manitoba, where I provided comprehensive psychological assessments and treatment to adults with mood, anxiety, and health-related difficulties. My training also provided experience conducting comprehensive psychoeducational assessments to children, adolescents, and adults experiencing problems with learning and attention.
Areas of Practice
psychological assessment
I conduct psychological assessments in order to aid in diagnosing and for the purpose of treatment planning. An assessment involves a semi-structured clinical interview and possibly psychometric questionnaires.
therapy
I provide treatment for a variety of presenting problems, primarily mood and anxiety disorders (e.g. social phobia, specific phobias, obsessive compulsive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder), as well as other stress-related conditions.
psycho-educational assessment
I provide educational assessments to postsecondary students through the Mobile Assessment Team, in order to examine whether learning or attentional difficulties are impacting academics.
